Algebra 1—CLOSED

Suggested Grade Level: 9th - 12th​

Dates: Wednesday, September 17, 2025 through Friday, May 8, 2026.

This course will follow the lessons found in Saxon’s Algebra 1 course. Topics include (but are not limited to), the rules of Algebra; solving equations and inequalities; equations containing rational expressions, exponents, and radicals; factoring; basic statistics; and application problems.

How War Gods Are Made: Iliad to Thucydides—CLOSED

Suggested Grade Level: 11th - 12th​

Dates: Monday, September 8, 2025 through Thursday, January 22, 2026.

The epic poem Iliad, written by Homer long ago and far away about the Trojan War and the men and women therein, ended with the famous line: “Thus, then, did they celebrate the funeral of Hector breaker of horses.”

American History—CLOSED

Dates: Monday, September 8, 2025 through Thursday, June 4, 2026.

​Our class will be a combination of reviewing history, the ideas that drove it, what happened both short-term at the time of certain events, and the long-term results experienced during our day. We will consider the legal battles and actual laws that set the relationship between people, places and things for better or worse...

Suggested Grade Level: 11th - 12th​

Dates: Tuesday, September 9, 2025 through Friday, June 5, 2026.

The class goal is to examine and discuss the major worldviews of the modern world (Christianity; Islam; Marxism; Humanism; Postmodernism). Each worldview will be examined within the context of 10 academic/philosophical disciplines (theology; philosophy; history; economics; law; politics; biology; psychology; ethics; sociology; psychology) in order to perceive the wide-ranging difference in the various meta-narratives extant in the world today…

 Ancient History—CLOSED

Suggested Grade Level: 9th - 10th​

Dates: Monday, September 8, 2025 through Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Our course of study for the year will move through the early ancient civilizations that existed long ago, and far away. We will interact with history from ancient Egypt, Hebrew, Sumerian, Greece and the Roman civilization into which Christ was born…

Medieval History—CLOSED

Suggested Grade Level: 10th - 11th​

Dates: Monday, September 8, 2025 through Thursday, June 4, 2026.

We will begin the year studying history from the rise of Constantine and move from there into the fall of Rome in 410. From there we will work our way through various events of history and consider some of the most famous people known to us: adventurers, warlords, generals, kings, queens, scholars & priests and end with the Protestant Reformer John Calvin.

City of God—CLOSED

Suggested Grade Level: 11th - 12th​

Dates: Tuesday, September 9, 2025 through Friday, January 23, 2026.

Saint Augustine was bishop of Hippo, North Africa during the 5th century of the waning Roman Empire. He would leave behind two famous literary works that were the first of their kind: Confessions, and the City of God. Both books would provide the theological foundation that has influenced Anglican, Roman Catholic, and Protestant Churches to this very day.
